Asia Argento was raised in Rome by a filmmaker and actor family. Both professions she pursued herself. At the age of nine the actress made her acting debut in Sergio Cittis Sogni e bisogni. In 1988 she had her role as the main character in the debut film of Cristina Comencini, Zoo (1988), as well as being one of the actors in The Church (1989), directed by Michele Soavi.
